FOOD SCRAP COLLECTION
Keep food scraps out of the incinerator!!
The Village of Elmsford has established a drop off Food Scrap Program for household food scraps on Winthrop Ave. The drop off is on the left side of the Elmsford Water Department building. There are specifically marked GREEN bins in place to collect the food scraps from the residents of the Village of Elmsford.
The Village disposes of the Food Scraps at half the cost of the regular garbage which saves taxpayer dollars. The collected food scraps are transferred to a commercial composting facility where it is turned into nutrient rich compost.
